Anchors Aweigh!

We recognize those sailors... why it's Ralph Noel at parade rest and at right are classmates Joe Kratka and Jack Haddock. This looks like this may the Great Lakes Naval Training Center and the time is fall of 1958.  As you were, sailors.

(This photo from Ginny Hill Noel's collection.)

October 1958.  John Haddock in his early days of his Navy tour. He writes on the back of the photo perhaps to his future wife, Pat:

"Don't be looking at the guy hanging up clothes... He is in skivies. How do you like that salute? Pretty good huh?  This is outside the barracks in the back by the clothes line. So you can see what we wash (whew)."

Below: Joe Kratka, Bruce Bradshaw and John Haddock in training in 1958. Great Iwo Jima pose, guys.
